Imo Police identifies officers cult activities

The Imo State Police Command has publicly identified three of its officers believed to have been captured in a viral video engaging in activities linked to cultism and has launched disciplinary proceedings against them. According to the command, the footage showed the officers wearing berets and caps associated with the Vikings Confraternity (also known as DNKI) and behaving in a manner described as “unprofessional conduct”.

The officers named are: Inspector Obinna Peter, Corporal Amaechi Augustine, and Corporal Ejikeme Victor. They were reportedly arrested and detained while the command initiated an investigation and scheduled an orderly room trial.

The command’s public relations officer, DSP Henry Okoye, said the directive to investigate and discipline the officers came from the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, who described the conduct as “unethical and unbecoming of police officers”.

This development comes amid growing scrutiny of police personnel who are alleged to engage in secret confraternity activities. The Imo command stated it remains committed to upholding the discipline, ethics and values of the Nigeria Police Force.
