Regina Daniels substance abuse marital crisis
Senator Ned Nwoko has recently spoken out in the midst of mounting speculation concerning his marriage to actress Regina Daniels and allegations surrounding her personal struggles. According to investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo, Nwoko accused Regina of battling substance abuse, saying that her drug and alcohol use has become a root issue in their marital tensions.
Olunloyo’s account claims that Nwoko described an incident in which Regina was allegedly “impaired and incoherent,” refused care being given to one of their children and even filmed him in a private moment — events he reportedly said were influenced by her substance use. He is said to have asked her to receive treatment, warning that continuing the behaviour could jeopardise her life, the children’s welfare and the marriage itself.
These disclosures come amid other serious allegations in the public domain. In October 2025, a video went viral of Regina in tears, seemingly accusing Nwoko of domestic violence. In the clip, she is heard saying “I can’t stand it again,” and that “in Nwoko’s house, I am nothing.” Her brother also posted accusations claiming an assault had taken place.
On the other hand, Nwoko has previously made public declarations of love toward Regina, denying separation and describing their bond as “untamed, wild, and free” as they celebrated six years of marriage and awaited their third child.
The juxtaposition of these public statements reveals a complex picture: on one side, a partner affirming loyalty and love; on the other, serious claims of substance misuse and marital strife. It remains uncertain which narrative will dominate the outcome of their relationship. No verified public statement has fully addressed all the substance-abuse allegations or the domestic-violence claims at the time of writing.
As things stand, Nwoko framed the issue as rooted in Regina’s alleged battle with drugs and alcohol, suggesting this behaviour is “the root of our problem.” Whether this confession marks a turning point towards resolution, treatment and reconciliation or is part of deeper unspoken fractures remains to be seen.
