Trump warns Hamas not to breach Gaza deal
Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Hamas, underscoring that any breach of the newly brokered Gaza deal would trigger a “fast, furious & brutal” response from U.S. allies.
The deal in question emerged from the late September 2025 peace initiative, which saw the United States playing a lead role in negotiations between Israel and Hamas, resulting in a fragile ceasefire and outlining terms for Hamas disarmament and a transition in Gaza.
Trump emphasized that while American forces will not be entering Gaza under the current phase of the deal, Israel and several Middle Eastern allies stand ready to intervene “in two minutes” if necessary. He stated that the group must behave and comply with the deal, or face eradication.
The warning comes amid accusations that Hamas has continued some activities that might violate the agreement, including alleged use of civilian infrastructure for military purposes and delays in releasing hostage bodies. The Palestinian Authority and other regional partners have flagged such concerns.
While Vice President JD Vance visited Israel to reinforce the U.S. commitment to the agreement, he stressed the need for patience as implementation takes hold.
The significance of Trump’s statement lies in its hard-line tone and its implications for the future stability of the Gaza deal. A breach by Hamas could lead to the resumption of major hostilities and wider regional intervention. The message from Washington is clear: compliance is expected, and non-compliance will carry severe consequences.
