Rappers Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube are facing serious legal allegations after being accused of refusing to return more than $1.3 million in a dispute tied to a merchandising deal.

According to the complaint filed by Westside Merchandising LLC, the two hip-hop icons agreed in 2022 to a partnership that made them “key men” in a venture involving the rap supergroup Mount Westmore (which includes Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E‑40 and Too Short). The promoter says it advanced $1.375 million and expected exclusive merchandise production and a 60-date tour across the U.S. and Europe in return—commitments it claims were never met.

The legal papers accuse Snoop and Ice Cube of breach of contract, fraud, conversion and failing to honour their promotional obligations, including producing a promotional video and appearing at a designated retail site. The plaintiff alleges the pair appeared only at one VIP meet-and-greet event, and that Snoop sold his own merch instead of cooperating with the deal.

In filings submitted this August, the artists’ legal team asked the court to block scheduled depositions—calling the request “harassing, oppressive and burdensome” for high-profile individuals with busy schedules. The documents state that Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube contend they have “nothing substantive to provide” at such hearings.

For now the case remains in its early stages. Neither Snoop Dogg nor Ice Cube have been found liable, and no court has yet ordered them to return funds or pay damages. The next steps will include whether depositions proceed and whether the plaintiff’s claims survive preliminary legal challenges.
