Nigerian women arrested in India drug manufacturing network
Three Nigerian women have been arrested in India in connection with a drug manufacturing and distribution network operating in the Delhi-NCR area. According to police reports, officers from the Crime Unit, Sector 43 Gurgaon, apprehended the suspects in a coordinated raid on 26 October 2025.
The two female Nigerians, identified as Precious and Gifg (reported variant of “Gift”), were detained near Bakhtawar Chowk, Gurgaon, following intelligence that they were supplying synthetic drugs such as MDMA and cocaine across the region.
The raid led to the recovery of 39 grams of MDMA from their possession, a quantity deemed “commercial” under India’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. They were booked under Section 21(C) of the Act at Sadar Police Station, Gurgaon.
Further searches revealed that another Nigerian woman, identified as Joy, was found in a building in Khanpur Extension, Delhi. Police say the building was rented and used by Nigerians to run a drug manufacturing and distribution setup involving MDMA, cocaine, packaging materials, and electronic weighing equipment.
According to investigation details, the two primary suspects entered India on medical visas around two years ago, but overstayed after their visas expired. They allegedly engaged in sex work in certain areas around MG Road, Delhi, and simultaneously facilitated drugs to customers in Gurgaon using front operations.
The operation marks a serious crackdown on synthetic-drug networks in India, with foreign nationals allegedly playing key roles in concealed manufacturing, distribution and courier systems. The police said the arrested suspects will be produced before court and further investigations are underway to dismantle the broader network.
