Kim Kardashian moon landing conspiracy

Kim Kardashian has recently stirred controversy by publicly expressing disbelief that the 1969 moon landing occurred. In an episode of her reality show The Kardashians, she told co-star Sarah Paulson that she believes the landing by Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong aboard the Apollo 11 mission never happened. She cited perceived inconsistencies, such as the American flag appearing to wave on the moon’s surface (despite its lack of atmosphere) and the absence of stars in lunar photographs.

Kardashian remarked that she has seen videos in which Buzz Aldrin is purported to say the landing didn’t happen, and she suggested her sister’s podcast might invite Aldrin to discuss the matter. She admitted in a confessional: “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake.” She encouraged viewers to look into the claims themselves via TikTok, while anticipating criticism of her stance.

These comments quickly drew widespread attention and fact-checking corrections. Numerous experts point out that the moon landing did indeed occur on July 20 1969, supported by extensive evidence including lunar rocks, retroreflectors still used for measurement, and high-resolution imagery of the landing sites from lunar orbiters.

While Kardashian’s remarks may reflect her interest in conspiracy theories, they also highlight how high-profile figures can amplify scientific scepticism. Her doubts mirror long-standing conspiracy claims that the moon landings were staged, claims which have been thoroughly addressed and debunked by scientists and historians.
