Regina Daniels replies Nigerians criticizing her video
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has responded to critics following a video she released about her marriage to her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko. In the clip, she described Nwoko as her “ex-husband” and said that her family has been going through a tough period behind the scenes.
Daniels opened the message by addressing the wave of criticism directed at her mother, Rita Daniels, asking social media users to stop insulting her. She stressed that her mother has been her pillar of support throughout her life and does not deserve the negativity.
She explained that she felt compelled to speak up because she sensed that people were deeply invested in her life, perhaps because many of them watched her movies as a child and later followed her into this limelight. She said she wanted to provide clarity, not because she owed anyone an explanation, but because the public thought they did.
Regina emphasized that her marriage was based on genuine love, not greed. She clarified that she did not marry for financial gain and pointed out that her family was not destitute; she had already been providing for her mother and siblings. She said the narrative that she married just for money was unfair.
On the issue of her children with Nwoko, she declared her commitment to raising them regardless of his involvement. She stressed that her children’s father’s name is important, but if she must, she will raise the children with or without his support.
The video comes amid serious public scrutiny of their marriage. Ned Nwoko has denied allegations of domestic abuse and claimed that Regina’s behaviour is linked to substance misuse. Meanwhile, Regina has alleged that her siblings were arrested to force her compliance with certain demands.
