Regina Daniels breaks down as brother Sammy remanded
Actress Regina Daniels has broken down in tears as she reacted publicly to the remand of her younger brother, Sammy West, in the custody of the Nasarawa State Correctional Service at Keffi Prison. The remand followed a court appearance during which a magistrate reportedly remanded Sammy without granting bail and then failed to process the bail application in a timely manner.
Regina posted on her Instagram account, visibly distressed, demanding to know her brother’s whereabouts and accusing senior law-enforcement officers of inaction. She stated: “My entire focus right now is to know the whereabouts of my brother. WHERE IS SAMMY NED!!!” Her post reflected a deep sense of urgency and fear, as she expressed that the detention was being used to intimidate her amid ongoing personal and legal turmoil.
According to family members, Sammy was arrested in Lagos and allegedly flown to Abuja before being presented in court and remanded in Keffi Prison. The family claims he has been denied access to legal counsel and contact with his family since his detention. Supporters of Regina Daniels, including fellow actress Mercy Johnson Okojie, have called the detention an act of injustice, demanding Sammy’s immediate release and fair hearing.
The development comes amid intense public interest in Regina Daniels’ marital struggles with Ned Nwoko, with allegations that the brother’s arrest is connected to her refusal to return to her husband’s home and go through rehabilitation. The situation remains fluid, with the family urging legal and human-rights groups to intervene.
