Rita Daniels accuses Ned Nwoko
Nollywood veteran actress and filmmaker Rita Daniels has publicly accused her son-in-law, Ned Nwoko, of using his influence to target her family amid the high-profile marital dispute involving her daughter, Regina Daniels. Rita claims that Nwoko orchestrated the arrests of two of her grandchildren’s older siblings in order to pressure Regina into returning to him or entering rehabilitation. According to media reports, she alleged that while one of the siblings remains in detention, the other is still uncertain about their next steps.
In a video message that has drawn widespread attention, Rita also asserted that Regina financially supported Nwoko’s political campaign to the tune of US$50,000. She claimed that the family’s resources were being used to bolster his senatorial ambitions, while the public portrayed her daughter as a “gold digger.” Rita urged the lawmaker to leave her family alone and asked Nigerians not to mischaracterise their situation.
The ongoing conflict appears to stem from deeper issues within the marriage of Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, including allegations of physical assault, drug accusations, and power dynamics, which Regina made publicly in recent weeks.
As of now, Ned Nwoko has not issued a formal response to Rita Daniels’ claims. The public statements have intensified the scrutiny surrounding the couple’s relationship and the broader family tensions.
