Media personality and governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in Anambra State, Chioma Ifemeludike, has reacted to the outcome of the November 8, 2025 election despite receiving only 292 votes. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) result sheet, the AAC candidate polled 292 votes across all 21 local government areas of the state.

In a statement shared via her social media handle, Ifemeludike declared: “Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner.” She addressed her supporters directly, referring to them as her “292 Solidarity voters,” and invited them to meet for lunch, wine and hugs as a show of gratitude.

While the official winner, Chukwuma Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was declared with 422,664 votes, Ifemeludike’s message emphasised personal conviction and a broader statement about values over vote count.

Her reaction came after she had earlier alleged incidents of vote-buying during the election, claiming that voters were being offered as little as ₦5,000 in exchange for their votes. She described the act as a “shameful stain on democracy” and demanded action by INEC and security agencies.

The commentary from Ifemeludike highlights a dimension of electoral participation that extends beyond winning: a focus on message, principles and personal mandate, in spite of the overwhelming numerical result in favour of the declared winner.
