Regina Daniels thanks supporters amid Ned Nwoko crisis
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has taken to social media to express her gratitude to those who have supported her amid the public crisis surrounding her marriage to Ned Nwoko. In a recent post, she acknowledged the media and members of the public for standing by her, even as she revealed the emotional toll the situation has taken.
In the statement she shared, Regina said she had been through sleepless nights and deep turmoil as she dealt with the fallout of her marriage. She thanked the media, noting that despite her usual disdain for its intrusion, she was appreciative of the coverage she has received and the voices that have backed her. “Let’s say I have nothing, my family is nothing, but you know what I’m most thankful for? … Aside every other thing I am privately thankful for, is the media!!” she wrote.
The actress also addressed the criticism she has faced, particularly in relation to her family. She urged the public to stop insulting her mother and spoke about the pain of being criticised while grappling with private distress. Regina explained that much of the animosity directed at her might stem from people who once supported her by purchasing her early movie work and feel a sense of stake in her story. “You are pained because you used your N200 or N500 to buy my CD just to watch my movie as a child… It’s okay. I am in the limelight, so you all have a say,” she said.
Regina’s message, laced with defiance and vulnerability, marks a turning point in how she publicly handles the crisis. She used her platform not only to thank her supporters but also to reclaim her narrative by making clear she won’t be silent. While she did not use the exact phrase “Joke’s on you Ned, because you thought people will hate me,” the tone of her comments conveys a similar sentiment: that despite the backlash and attempts at tarnishing her reputation, she retains support and intends to emerge stronger.
