Paris Jackson perforated septum drug use
Paris Jackson, daughter of the late music icon Michael Jackson, has revealed a deeply personal consequence of her past drug use: a perforated septum (a hole in the cartilage between her nostrils). She shared the disclosure in a video posted on TikTok on November 10, 2025.
In the clip, Jackson holds a phone light up to her nostril to illustrate the cavity and explains that the condition causes a “really loud whistle” when she breathes through her nose. She states: “I have what is called a perforated septum… and that is from what you think it’s from.”
The 27-year-old actress and musician added that she has lived with this condition since around age 20, and although surgery is possible, she has chosen not to pursue it. Her reason: being almost six years sober, she does not want to risk relapse by having to take post-surgery pain medications. “You have to take pills when you do a surgery that gnarly … and I don’t want to f*** with that,” she said.
Jackson took the moment to caution others, saying: “Don’t do drugs, kids… Or do, I mean, everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life. I’m not going to tell anyone what to do. I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life.”
Her openness has been met with significant attention, highlighting her sober journey and the tangible, lasting effects that substance abuse can leave behind.
