The Super Eagles of Nigeria have now gathered a full complement of 23 players in their camp ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff. The squad assembled in Rabat, Morocco as they prepare for the crucial African Play-Off semi-final against Gabon National Football Team, a match that will determine whether Nigeria progresses further toward the World Cup.

Coach Eric Chelle named a 24-man roster in early November, with players arriving in camp over several days. According to the official list, several key members include goalkeepers such as Maduka Okoye and Stanley Nwabali, defenders like William Troost‑Ekong, Calvin Bassey and Zaidu Sanusi, midfielders including Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Raphael Onyedika, and forwards such as Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman.

Preparations have not been entirely smooth. The players staged a training boycott just days before the fixture over unpaid bonuses dating from previous matches. The disruption threatened to derail the build-up but was reportedly resolved so the squad could focus fully on the upcoming match.

With 23 players now in camp, the Super Eagles can fine-tune their tactics, fitness and cohesion ahead of the playoff tie. The group will be looking to secure victory and move one step closer to securing one of the inter-continental slots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
