Reuben Abati slams Nyesom Wike
Columnist and broadcaster Reuben Abati has sharply criticised Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), describing him as the “Omo Onile of the FCT” and a “political bouncer” for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on the morning show of Arise News on November 14 2025, Abati accused Wike of selectively observing the rule of law, citing alleged demolitions in Abuja that seemingly ignored court judgments.
Abati further noted that Wike’s confrontation with a naval officer, AM Yerima, at a disputed land site in the FCT had placed the Presidency in a difficult position. The dissent came from top military and security officials who reportedly voiced concerns about the incident.
He urged Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, to call Minister Wike to order, arguing that no public officer should operate above the law or without decorum.
