Joseph Parker cocaine failed drug test

Former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker is under scrutiny after failing a drugs test on the day of his fight with Fabio Wardley on October 25, 2025. According to the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA), his sample showed a metabolite linked to cocaine.

Parker has denied any wrongdoing. In a public statement, he said he was “surprised” by the test result, insisted he “did not take any prohibited substance,” and stressed that he doesn’t use performance-enhancing drugs. He also said he is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Because cocaine is a recreational drug rather than a performance enhancer, its presence doesn’t necessarily suggest an attempt to boost his athletic performance. Still, under UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) rules, he could face a ban of up to two years if the result is upheld.

Parker’s promoter, Queensberry Promotions, confirmed that VADA notified all relevant parties about the “adverse finding” but said they were waiting on further developments. The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) is also investigating.

On his side, Parker remains confident he will be cleared. He said he will speak openly once the investigation is done.
