D’banj says Don Jazzy initiated Mo’Hits split
D’banj has claimed that the decision to end Mo’Hits Records was actually Don Jazzy’s idea, not his. According to D’banj, he was taken aback when Jazzy told him, “Let’s scatter Mo’Hits … two captains cannot be in a ship,” suggesting that their partnership wasn’t sustainable.
He said that in a meeting, Don Jazzy expressed that he just didn’t want to continue with Mo’Hits anymore. At one point, D’banj even asked for six more months to try to make things work, but Jazzy remained firm in his decision.
D’banj has framed the split not just as a business decision, but as a clash of visions. He believed they could grow Mo’Hits further, especially in Africa, while Jazzy was more cautious.
