VDM Mr Jollof in-flight fight
VeryDarkMan, whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, says he got into a physical fight with comedian Mr Jollof aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos.
According to VDM, the clash started because of weeks of social media back-and-forth between him and Mr Jollof. When he saw Mr Jollof on the plane, VDM said to him, “Today, you will slap me,” referring to their ongoing feud.
VDM claims Mr Jollof then punched him first. As the fight escalated, VDM says Mr Jollof bit him leaving visible marks and nearly ruining a tattoo on VDM’s body. VDM described the biting somewhat mockingly, saying Mr Jollof “had not brushed his teeth.”
Passengers, including comedian Funny Bone, apparently tried to intervene to separate them.
After the incident, United Nigeria Airlines confirmed they removed both men from the flight. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is also looking into the matter.
VDM, in a video post, seemed proud, stating he “dealt with” Mr Jollof during the altercation.
From a legal perspective, experts note that such violence on a flight could lead to criminal charges under Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Act.
