Force PRO Hundeyin warns against inter‑agency feuding over Yerima reports

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Police Force, responded strongly to those he called “feud‑mongers” following media and social‑media reports of an alleged assassination attempt on Lieutenant A.M. Yerima.

He urged people stirring inter‑agency tension to note that the security services remain closely united. In his words: “We remain focused, as team players, in securing our dear nation both from within and without.”

Hundeyin’s remarks come amid conflicting reports about the incident. While some sources claim two unmarked vans trailed Lt. Yerima in Abuja, leading to a narrow escape, the FCT Police Command has denied any such assassination attempt.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh has stated that the command has no record of the incident and described the circulating stories as “false information and unverified claims” that risk causing public panic.

Hundeyin’s message underscores a broader point: even when tensions or reports arise, he insists security agencies are working together, not at odds.
