Adamawa convict laments girlfriends’ absence after noodle theft
An inmate in Adamawa State has expressed deep disappointment after revealing that he stole packs of noodles and shared them among his three girlfriends, yet none of them visited him while he was in prison. The convict, who spoke during a correctional facility outreach programme, explained that he committed the theft hoping to impress the women and strengthen his relationships with them. Instead, he was arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced, only to realise that the people he tried to please had abandoned him.
He said he had expected at least one of them to check on him or show support during his time behind bars, but none made any effort to visit. According to him, the experience taught him a painful lesson about loyalty and the consequences of crime. The convict urged young people to value honest living and avoid engaging in acts that could lead to imprisonment, especially out of the desire to win affection or approval.
Officials who listened to his account described his story as a reminder of how poor choices can lead to long-term regrets. They encouraged inmates to embrace rehabilitation opportunities and reconsider the relationships and behaviours that influenced their actions before their conviction.
