Gunmen attacked the convoy of former Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, in Anambra State, causing panic among residents and road users in the area. The attack reportedly occurred along a major route as the convoy was moving through the state for an official engagement.

Eyewitnesses said the attackers opened fire on the convoy, forcing the vehicles to speed off to escape the attack. Security operatives attached to the convoy were said to have responded swiftly, engaging the gunmen and securing the safe passage of the former minister.
