The Actors Guild of Nigeria, the Directors Guild of Nigeria, and the Association of Movie Producers have jointly suspended actor Taiye Arimoro following an on-set altercation with actress Peggy Ovire. The decision was announced after the three major industry bodies reviewed reports surrounding the incident, which reportedly disrupted production and created tension among cast and crew members.

According to information from the guilds, the altercation occurred during a film shoot and was described as unprofessional and contrary to the code of conduct expected on movie sets. Sources within the production disclosed that the disagreement between the two actors escalated beyond verbal exchange, prompting intervention from crew members before the situation could worsen.

Following preliminary investigations, the leadership of AGN, DGN, and AMP agreed on an immediate suspension as a disciplinary measure. The suspension is expected to remain in effect while further reviews are carried out to fully determine the circumstances that led to the clash. The joint action by the bodies is aimed at maintaining professionalism, safety, and mutual respect within the Nollywood industry.

Emeka Rollas, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, was part of the leadership that endorsed the suspension. The guilds reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on misconduct and stressed that all practitioners must adhere strictly to established industry ethics. They also urged filmmakers and actors to resolve disputes peacefully to avoid actions that could damage careers and disrupt productions.

Meanwhile, Peggy Ovire has not made any detailed public statement about the incident as of the time of this report. Industry insiders say the development has sparked renewed conversations about discipline and workplace conduct in Nollywood, with many calling for clearer enforcement of professional standards to protect both cast and crew.
