Bandits abduct man and kill mother in Kano
Bandits have abducted a man and two other persons in Kano State and later killed his mother just hours after he reportedly prayed against those politicising insecurity in the state. The tragic incident occurred in a rural community where armed men stormed the area at night and seized the victims before fleeing into the bush. Residents said the attack caused widespread panic as gunshots echoed through the neighbourhood while families struggled to find safety.
According to community sources, the abducted man had earlier taken part in prayers against rising insecurity and had spoken openly about the suffering of locals at the hands of criminals. Hours after the abduction, the attackers reportedly returned to the community and killed his elderly mother in cold blood. Her death has plunged the family and residents into deep mourning and renewed fear.
Security operatives have been notified of the attack, and a search operation has been launched to rescue the abducted persons and track down the perpetrators.
