Wike reinstates Education Mandate Secretary and IRS Acting Chairman
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has reinstated Dr. Danlami Hayyo as the Mandate Secretary for Education and Mr. Michael Ango as the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), reversing their earlier suspensions and directing them to resume duty immediately. The reinstatement was announced in an official statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, on Wednesday in Abuja.
Dr. Hayyo had been suspended late in November following controversy over a circular that appeared to order early closure of government secondary schools in the territory, a directive that the FCT administration later described as unauthorised and “entirely unfounded.” Michael Ango was also relieved of his duties earlier in December, with no specific reason publicly given at that time.
While welcoming them back to their positions, Wike warned that acts of indiscipline will not be tolerated among officials of the FCT Administration. Both Hayyo and Ango were instructed to resume work with immediate effect, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure effective service delivery and discipline within the FCTA.
