Eagles hire Sean Mannion offensive coordinator
The Philadelphia Eagles have named Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator ahead of the 2026 NFL season. Mannion, 33, was previously the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers and will replace Kevin Patullo, who was dismissed after a disappointing offensive performance in the 2025 season. The Eagles finished outside the top tier of NFL offences last year, ranking 24th in total yards and 19th in scoring, highlighting the need for a fresh approach. Mannion is a former NFL quarterback who played nine seasons in the league with several teams before beginning his coaching career in 2024. Although he has only two years of coaching experience and has never called plays at any level, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in his offensive mindset and strategic vision, saying that Mannion brings a “bright, young” perspective to the team’s offence. The Eagles conducted an extensive search for their next offensive coordinator, interviewing multiple candidates before settling on Mannion. He becomes the latest coach to fill the role in as many seasons under Sirianni’s leadership, and observers say his task will be to help rejuvenate the Eagles’ offensive production and support quarterback Jalen Hurts as the team seeks to return to championship contention in the NFL.
