Zero Discrimination Day Anambra First Lady
The First Lady of Anambra State has called on Nigerians to uphold human dignity and equality as the world marks Zero Discrimination Day. In a statement, she emphasized that discrimination in any form undermines social cohesion and national development.
She highlighted that respect for human rights, inclusion and fairness should guide interactions in families, workplaces, schools and communities. The Anambra First Lady urged citizens to embrace diversity, reject prejudice and promote policies that protect vulnerable groups, including women, children, persons with disabilities, and minorities.
The observance of Zero Discrimination Day, held annually on March 1, seeks to raise awareness about social exclusion, inequality, and unfair treatment worldwide. She stressed that fostering a culture of respect and tolerance contributes to peaceful coexistence and strengthens the moral fabric of society.
Officials and civil society groups in Anambra State have joined the First Lady in promoting initiatives that combat discrimination, including advocacy campaigns, educational programs, and community outreach activities. They encouraged citizens to actively participate in creating inclusive environments where every individual can thrive without fear of bias or marginalization.
