Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has dismissed a recent court ruling that reportedly barred him from seeking a second term in office, describing the decision as premature and unnecessary. The governor stated that the ruling does not affect his constitutional right to contest in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
The controversy followed a judgment delivered by a Federal High Court which allegedly questioned Aiyedatiwa’s eligibility to seek another term as governor. Reacting to the development, the governor maintained that the legal action was based on issues that had not yet matured and therefore should not have been entertained by the court at this stage.
