The tragic return of four deceased hostages from Gaza has brought sorrow and closure to their families. Among the identified victims are Guy Iluz, a 26-year-old Israeli national, and Bipin Joshi, a 23-year-old Nepali agriculture student. Their remains were returned to Israel on October 13, 2025, as part of a ceasefire agreement brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Guy Iluz was attending the Nova music festival in southern Israel when Hamas militants launched their attack on October 7, 2023. He attempted to flee in a jeep and later sought refuge in a tree, where he made his final contact with his parents before being captured and taken to Gaza.

Bipin Joshi had arrived in Israel only a few weeks before the attack to participate in a “Learn and Earn” agricultural study program. He was working on farms near the Gaza border when abducted by Hamas militants. A video released by his family in October 2025 showed him in captivity, identifying himself and explaining his purpose in Israel.

The identities of the other two deceased hostages have not been publicly released, as their families have requested privacy.

The return of these bodies marks a significant, albeit painful, moment for the families and nations involved. While the ceasefire has brought relief to many, the incomplete return of all hostages’ remains underscores the ongoing challenges in achieving lasting peace and closure.
