Frenkie de Jong extends contract with Barcelona until 2029
Barcelona have confirmed that Frenkie de Jong has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029.
Under the new terms, de Jong’s release clause has been raised from €400 million to €500 million. His salary for the current season will remain unchanged, and the updated contract conditions will take effect with the 2026-27 campaign.
Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, and president Joan Laporta have said that de Jong is viewed as a crucial part of the club’s future project. The deal is seen as a way for the club to secure stability in midfield while also managing the financial constraints that had been a concern in recent seasons.
