APC Convention Abuja 2026: Tinubu, Shettima, Akande Attend Party Gathering
President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and party chieftain Bisi Akande were among top leaders present at the 2026 national convention of the All Progressives Congress held in Abuja.

The high-profile event took place at Eagle Square, bringing together key figures of the ruling party. The convention attracted governors, lawmakers, and party stakeholders from across the country, reflecting its importance ahead of future political activities.

President Tinubu led the delegation of senior party members to the gathering, reinforcing his leadership role within the APC. Vice President Shettima was also in attendance, alongside prominent political figures including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

Former national chairman Bisi Akande’s presence added historical weight to the event, as he remains one of the founding figures of the party. His attendance highlighted continuity within the APC leadership structure and the party’s long-standing political influence.

The APC convention is seen as a major step in strengthening internal party unity and preparing for upcoming elections. Political analysts note that such gatherings often serve as a platform for strategic decisions, leadership alignment, and policy direction within the party.
The 2026 convention comes at a critical time as the ruling party continues to consolidate its position following the 2023 general elections. With preparations gradually building toward the next electoral cycle, the event underscores the APC’s focus on cohesion and long-term political planning.
