Troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE intercepted a vehicle carrying suspected hard drugs in Akwanga, Nasarawa State. The driver of an ash-coloured Toyota Solara with Lagos registration KJA-108FY abandoned the car and fled into nearby bushes upon seeing the military checkpoint.
The stop-and-search took place around Anguwan Malama in Akwanga Local Government Area on 14 October 2025. Inside the vehicle, several bags of substances believed to be marijuana were found. The troops seized the vehicle along with the exhibits, and they are now in military custody for further investigation.
Major General Moses Gara praised the soldiers involved for their vigilance and resilience. He said the action demonstrates Operation WHIRL STROKE’s commitment to curbing criminal activity and improving security in the region.
The case will be handed over to relevant authorities for prosecution.
