Tonto Dikeh Establishes Prophetic Ministry, Holds Weekly Fellowship
Nollywood actress and evangelist Tonto Dikeh has announced the establishment of a new interdenominational Christian ministry, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle (NWPT), marking her latest and most formal step yet from the entertainment industry into full-time ministry.
Dikeh announced the ministry on her Instagram page on Sunday, describing it as grounded in the foundational truths of scripture, drawing specifically on the biblical passage in Mark 2:22, which states that no one puts new wine into old wineskins. In her announcement, she described NWPT as an interdenominational altar, spiritual home, and global movement of consecrated believers called to experience what she termed the raw power, purity, and presence of God.
Outlining the ministry’s vision, Dikeh said NWPT aims to see a global awakening of consecrated believers operating in God’s presence, with the ultimate goal of transforming nations and establishing what she described as Christ’s Kingdom on Earth. On its mission, she said the ministry exists to build an interdenominational altar of prayer, revival, and apostolic training designed to equip watchmen, activate spiritual gifts, drive relentless soul winning, and deliver believers from various forms of captivity through what she described as the power of the Holy Spirit.
The actress was careful to distinguish the new platform from a conventional church or denomination. In her statement, she explained that NWPT is not a church, but rather an intense gathering of people consecrated and equipped for God’s purposes, describing members as a people set apart, refined by his presence, and commissioned to advance his Kingdom.
According to the announcement, weekly fellowship gatherings will be held every Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Omini Grand Hotel, formerly known as Alexis Hotel, upstairs by Masalachi Junction in the Jabi area of Abuja.
The launch follows a period in which Dikeh has become increasingly vocal about her Christian faith and personal spiritual journey. In February 2026, she completed a discipleship programme at Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International church, sharing her certificate publicly and speaking about what she described as a profound spiritual experience. She has since become associated with the church’s New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) community, and has in recent months conducted deliverance sessions and made public comments urging men to rely on genuine effort rather than spiritual shortcuts when seeking marriage partners.
News of the ministry’s launch has generated widespread and divided reactions online, with some Nigerians welcoming the move as a sincere expression of Dikeh’s faith journey, while others voiced scepticism about her motivations, joining a broader public conversation about the growing trend of Nigerian celebrities transitioning into religious leadership roles.
