Funke Akindele, K1, Others Grace Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe’s Thanksgiving
Nollywood stars and well-wishers gathered on Wednesday in Lekki, Lagos, to celebrate actor Lateef Adedimeji and his wife, actress Mo Bimpe, at a star-studded thanksgiving ceremony marking the arrival of their triplet sons, Rahman, Raheem, and Rakeeb.
The event drew a wide turnout from across Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with guests including filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele, Fuji music icon K1 De Ultimate, businesswoman Shade Okoya, and actresses Iyabo Ojo, Mercy Aigbe, and Odunlade Adekola, among dozens of other celebrities and industry figures who turned out to mark the couple’s milestone. The thanksgiving followed months of public anticipation after Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe welcomed their triplet boys in the first half of 2026.
Ahead of the celebration, Adedimeji shared a reflective and emotional post on his Instagram page, recalling the difficult period of mockery, rumours, and public scrutiny the couple endured while trying to start a family. Writing about the whispers, lies, stigma, and assumptions that had at times been said behind their backs and, at other times, directly to their faces, the actor explained that he and his wife had deliberately chosen silence over public rebuttal, trusting that their story was being written on their behalf. He added that although there were moments they could have fought back or defended themselves publicly, they instead chose to remain quiet, believing a greater plan was unfolding.
Adedimeji used the same post to publicly thank his wife for her steadfastness throughout their journey to parenthood, describing their shared experience as one that only the two of them could fully understand, and commending her for continuing to believe even when circumstances gave them reason to doubt. The couple also shared photos from their outfit preparations for the celebration in the lead-up to the event, further building anticipation among fans online.
The thanksgiving ceremony represented more than a celebration of new parenthood for the couple; it also served as a broader moment of gratitude following a journey they have both openly described in recent days as one shaped by patience, resilience, and answered prayers. Adedimeji and Mo Bimpe, who married in 2021, had long faced public speculation regarding children throughout their marriage, a chapter the actor has now described as having been transformed into testimony following the arrival of their three sons.
Photos and videos from the star-studded event have since circulated widely on social media, with fans and colleagues within the Nigerian entertainment industry continuing to send congratulatory messages to the couple following the celebration.
