BBNaija S11 Housemates Win First Wager Task Since Premiere
Housemates of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 11 secured their first weekly wager victory as a full house on Thursday, breaking a two-week losing streak since the reality show premiered on July 26 and delivering their strongest collective performance of the season so far.
The housemates presented their wager task, themed “Go Hard or Go Home,” during Thursday’s live task session, with fellow housemate Sultex directing the performance. During his review of the presentation, Biggie acknowledged the visible effort the housemates had invested in their preparations, noting that the intensity of rehearsals had affected the Head of House’s voice on several occasions in the lead-up to the task.
When questioned about why the presentation ran shorter than expected, housemate Tram explained that music-related limitations had affected the performance, adding that the group had prepared additional content they were ultimately unable to incorporate into the final presentation. Despite the shortened runtime, Biggie commended the housemates’ overall effort, though he was not without criticism, faulting the group for failing to think outside the box in their creative approach and challenging them to be more innovative in future tasks. Biggie singled out Sultex for praise, describing his leadership of the presentation as that of a “star.”
The victory marks the housemates’ first successful wager task since the show’s opening night, following a series of setbacks tied to the season’s new team-based format. That format, introduced at the start of Season 11, splits housemates into male and female teams for select competitions, including wager presentations and arena games. The male team had earlier claimed the season’s very first Thursday wager victory in late July, defeating their female counterparts in a debate task centred on the “Nature versus Nurture” argument, with the men successfully arguing that inherited traits play the more dominant role in shaping human character and behaviour.
Thursday’s win, however, came as a unified house effort rather than a team-based contest, ending the broader losing streak the housemates had faced in recent weekly tasks. With the victory secured, the housemates are expected to build on the momentum as they continue navigating the competition, balancing individual strategy with group dynamics under Big Brother’s evolving format heading deeper into the season.
