Iyabo Ojo Alleges Malicious Plot by Detractors Against Her
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has raised alarm over what she describes as a malicious plot being orchestrated against her by unnamed detractors, though she has not disclosed specific details about the nature of the alleged scheme or those she believes are behind it.
Ojo made the disclosure in a cryptic post shared on her Instagram page on Thursday, in which she accused unidentified individuals she referred to only as “detractors” of plotting against her. Without elaborating further, she declared that she remained firmly grounded and unshaken despite the alleged threat, writing that she was aware her detractors were plotting but that she stood solidly on ground.
In the post, Ojo assured the public of her intention to rely on formal legal channels rather than respond outside due process, stating that as a law-abiding citizen, she and others would keenly observe adherence to the rule of law, compliance with due process, and institutional independence. She went on to suggest that she was monitoring covert activity connected to the alleged plot, referencing what she described as crooked plans and camouflaged visits by unnamed parties, and claimed to be picking up on quiet conversations happening behind the scenes. She concluded the message by vowing not to be silenced, stating that the truth would eventually come to light and that she would continue speaking to the conscience of society.
Ojo did not name the individuals or groups she believes are behind the alleged plot, nor did she provide further context about what prompted the warning. The post has since generated significant discussion online, with fans and followers speculating about the nature of the threat and expressing support for the actress.
The latest development adds to a string of controversies and alleged threats the actress has faced over the past year. In July 2025, her Lagos office was destroyed in a fire that her daughter, Priscilla Ojo-Mkambala, alleged was linked to an anonymous threat letter the family had received weeks earlier, reportedly warning that Priscilla’s then-recent marriage to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux would be disrupted and that the family would be closely monitored. Ojo has also been involved in a series of separate public disputes in recent months, including clashing with fellow actress Liz Anjorin following the fire incident, and distancing herself from an associate accused of running a fan-based financial scheme under her name.
As of the time of reporting, Ojo had not issued any further public statement providing additional details about the current alleged plot, and no law enforcement agency had commented publicly on the matter.
