‘Your Lifestyle Reason for Our Dad’s Ordeal’ – Jezco’s Daughter Slams Brother, Jowizaza
Blessing Ezeokafor, the eldest daughter of kidnapped businessman and Jezco Group chairman, Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, has publicly accused her younger brother, Eberechukwu Ezeokafor, popularly known as Jowizaza, of being responsible for the family’s current ordeal following their father’s abduction.
Chief Ezeokafor, founder of Jezco Oil, was kidnapped on August 4, 2026, at a prayer mountain in Ifite village, Awka, Anambra State. He had reportedly stepped out for an early morning prayer session without his security detail when the abductors seized him. The family said they initially agreed to pay a ransom of N700 million, but negotiations broke down after the kidnappers abruptly doubled the demand to N1.5 billion, with communication between both parties said to have since stalled.
In a series of emotional posts shared on Facebook, Blessing blamed her brother’s flamboyant social media lifestyle for creating a false impression that the family was extremely wealthy, arguing that this perception influenced the kidnappers’ decision to raise the ransom. She insisted the family lived modestly and was, in reality, buried in debt rather than swimming in the kind of wealth her brother’s online image suggested.
She went further to allege that the family owed several financial institutions substantial sums, claiming debts running into tens of billions of naira to at least two banks, and said a business venture with an American partner she had personally introduced had done little to ease their financial pressure. According to her, the gap between her brother’s online portrayal and the family’s actual financial reality was now endangering her father’s life.
Blessing also revisited longstanding grievances about her brother’s role in their father’s company, alleging that he had mismanaged the business before being removed as a director and placed on a fixed monthly salary. She said the confusion created by his online persona had directly worsened the crisis the family now finds itself in.
Her comments quickly drew backlash from social media users, some of whom accused her of airing family issues publicly and suggested her outburst stemmed from existing tension with her brother over his finances. In response, Blessing defended her decision to speak out, maintaining that she needed to correct the narrative around the family’s wealth before it cost her father his life. She also cautioned commentators and bloggers against further exaggerating the family’s financial status.
Beyond the back-and-forth between siblings, Blessing used part of her posts to appeal directly to the kidnappers, urging them to release her father and reiterating that the family did not have access to the amount of money being demanded. She also referenced her father’s health, noting concerns about his need for medication while in captivity.
As of the time of filing, there was no official confirmation from the Ezeokafor family, the police, or Jezco Group regarding the current status of the negotiations or Chief Ezeokafor’s whereabouts. The matter has continued to generate widespread discussion online, with the public family dispute adding a dramatic and personal dimension to an already tense kidnapping case.
