Everton job may be my last – David Moyes

Everton manager David Moyes has hinted recently that his current role at Goodison Park might be the final chapter of his long career in football management. In an interview with PLZ Soccer, he admitted that he “would probably say yes” when asked if Everton would be his last job, while also conceding that “you never know how football goes.”

Moyes explained he had previously believed his management career was over after leaving West Ham in 2024, especially after winning a European trophy there. But his passion drew him back. He said he caught the “bug” again and still sees the possibility of chasing more success.

The 62-year-old Scot returned to Everton in January 2025, replacing Sean Dyche as the club fights to maintain its status in the Premier League. Under Moyes, Everton have shown signs of improvement, and he has expressed pride in the turnaround thus far.

Still, Moyes stressed that the unpredictable nature of football means nothing is certain. Despite suggesting that Everton may be his last post, he left room in his remarks for future possibilities depending on how events unfold.
