Poco Lee UK Arrest: Nigerian Dancer Reportedly Held Over Rape Allegation
Nigerian singer, dancer and influencer Poco Lee has reportedly been arrested in the United Kingdom over an allegation of rape, according to reports circulating widely online, though the claim remains unconfirmed by any official UK law enforcement source.
The report, which has sparked reactions across social media, claims the entertainer was arrested in connection with an alleged sexual offence in the UK. However, details surrounding the reported arrest, including the identity of the alleged victim, the circumstances of the allegation and whether formal charges have been filed, remain unclear. The claim has yet to be independently verified through an official statement from UK law enforcement authorities or a court.
Poco Lee, whose full name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, has shot to the top of the trends after reports emerged that he had allegedly been arrested in the United Kingdom in connection with an allegation of sexual assault, according to Arise News and PM News Nigeria. According to the Nigerian platforms, Poco Lee, who built his reputation through viral dance videos and high-profile collaborations with some of Nigeria’s biggest music acts, is said to be at the centre of a sexual offence allegation in the UK. He is a prominent Nigerian dancer and singer who rose to fame through his dance performances before establishing himself in the music industry, and has collaborated with several leading Nigerian artistes, building a significant following through his music, dance performances and social media presence.
No official statement from British law enforcement authorities has been issued, and it remains unconfirmed whether any formal charges have been filed against him. The identity of the alleged victim and the specific circumstances surrounding the allegation have not been made public, and the reports remain a rumour until confirmed, despite sparking significant social media reactions.
The reports of Poco Lee’s alleged arrest emerged around the same time as a separate, distinct allegation from Nigerian-born, Texas-based rapper Ms Jorji, who has publicly accused him of attempting to sexually assault her and a female friend during a 2024 encounter at his Dallas apartment. Amid the circulation of reports about the UK arrest, a separate accusation has also surfaced. A Nigerian-born, Texas-based rapper who goes by the name Ms Jorji came forward in videos shared online, alleging that Poco Lee attempted to sexually assault both her and her girlfriend approximately two years ago. That allegation is unrelated to and has no confirmed connection with the UK arrest claim.
Reaction within Poco Lee’s inner circle has also emerged, with an associate publicly defending him. A friend and ally of popular Nigerian dancer Poco Lee has spoken out in his defence following reports that the entertainer was arrested in the United Kingdom over assault allegations. Tunde Perry addressed the reports in a video shared on his social media page, dismissing the claims outright.
The reported arrest comes amid growing attention to allegations involving public figures, with social media frequently becoming a source of breaking claims before details are officially confirmed. Until further information is released by the relevant authorities, the allegation against Poco Lee remains a report and should not be treated as a proven criminal offence. Further details are expected to emerge if UK authorities or legal representatives for the entertainer issue statements regarding the reported incident.
As of the time of filing, Poco Lee had not personally issued any public statement addressing either the reported UK arrest or the separate allegations raised by Ms Jorji, and no UK police force or court had confirmed any arrest, charge or ongoing proceeding involving him.
