Blaqbonez Odumodublvck Feud: Rapper Reveals It “Started With A Girl”
Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has opened up about his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Odumodublvck, claiming that the dispute began after both men became interested in the same woman and later escalated into social media attacks and a legal battle.
Blaqbonez said in a recent interview with Rufai Oseni on the Nevon HQ podcast that the woman was someone he had been close to for about a year in a non-exclusive relationship before they eventually decided to go their separate ways. “It is a matter involving a girl somehow, some way. Some lies were told,” he said. “Me and the girl, we kind of have a thing like a year, but we were in a non-exclusive relationship.”
He said the woman later told him that their relationship was no longer heading in the direction she wanted. According to Blaqbonez, he respected her decision and tried to establish boundaries, adding that he was unaware of the woman’s relationship with Odumodublvck. “I don’t know that she was Odumodublvck’s because we don’t really discuss those things,” he said.
Blaqbonez said the conflict became more serious after he contacted Odumodublvck to find out whether there was an issue between them. “He said he doesn’t have anything to tell me. Anywhere you see me, don’t greet me,” he said. Blaqbonez claimed Odumodublvck accused him of disturbing the woman. Blaqbonez said he asked when the two started dating but claimed Odumodublvck did not provide an answer. “From that day till today, it has been constant harassment,” he said.
According to Blaqbonez’s account, what began as private tension around the relationship eventually spilled into the public arena, developing into open exchanges between the two rappers on social media platforms and, at a later stage, into a legal dispute between them. He suggested that mounting public back-and-forth between the camps, paired with unresolved personal grievances, is what pushed a private disagreement into the sustained, high-profile feud that fans have watched play out for months.
The rapper also addressed separate sexual-abuse allegations made against him, insisting that he would not take such accusations lightly, distancing that controversy from the substance of his account of the Odumodublvck dispute while maintaining that the root of the rift with his fellow rapper traces back to the romantic entanglement he described.
The feud between Blaqbonez and Odumodublvck has been one of the more closely watched rivalries in Nigeria’s hip-hop scene over the past year, with both artists occasionally trading indirect jabs in interviews, on social media and in their music, drawing reactions from fans and industry observers who have followed the escalating tension. Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, is a member of the hip-hop collective Anti World Gangstars and is signed to NATIVE Records in partnership with Def Jam Recordings, known for his genre-blending sound spanning hip-hop, grime, drill and Afrobeats. Blaqbonez, born Emeka Akumefule, is a former battle rapper turned pop-leaning hybrid artist signed to Chocolate City, known for his sharp lyricism and elaborate self-promotion.
As of the time of filing, Odumodublvck had not publicly responded to Blaqbonez’s latest comments on the podcast, and it remains unclear whether the account will prompt any fresh reaction from his camp or further developments in the legal dispute both men are reportedly involved in.
