Brigitte Bardot hospitalized serious illness
Brigitte Bardot, the renowned French actress and animal rights activist, has been hospitalized for the past three weeks due to a serious illness. The 91-year-old icon underwent surgery at the private Saint-Jean Hospital in Toulon, near her residence in Saint-Tropez. Sources indicate that her condition remains “worrying,” though there is cautious optimism for her recovery.
Bardot rose to international fame in the 1950s and 1960s for her roles in films such as And God Created Woman and Viva Maria!. After retiring from acting in the 1970s, she dedicated herself to animal rights activism through the Brigitte Bardot Foundation. This hospitalization follows a previous health scare in January 2023, when she was treated for respiratory failure.
As of now, Bardot is expected to be released from the hospital in the coming days, pending further recovery. Her family and the Brigitte Bardot Foundation have not issued public statements regarding her current health status.
