Agege LG chairman resignation health challenges
The Chairman of Agege Local Government Council (ALGC), Hon. Tunde Azeez (popularly known as “Disco”), has officially resigned his post, citing persistent health challenges that have hampered his ability to discharge his duties effectively.
In a plenary session of the Council’s Legislative Arm, Azeez’s resignation letter was read out and accepted unanimously by the lawmakers.
Following the acceptance of the resignation, the Legislative Arm confirmed Abdul‑Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, previously Acting Chairman and the son of Mudashiru Obasa Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly as the substantive Chairman of Agege LG.
The lawmakers noted that his appointment was aimed at ensuring a seamless transition in leadership and sustaining effective governance and service delivery within the area.
In their remarks, members of the Council praised Azeez for his service to the community and extended wishes for his full recovery as he steps aside due to the health issues he cited.
