Anambra Decides 2025 Soludo win
In the latest Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) updates for the Anambra State governorship election, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been announced as the winner. The commission declared Soludo victorious after the results from 19 out of the 21 local government areas (LGAs) were uploaded, showing him in a commanding lead.
According to INEC’s live results portal, Soludo secured an overwhelming advantage across the majority of the LGAs listed, including Awka South, Anaocha, Onitsha North and South, Njikoka, Aguata and others. His main rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), trailed significantly in comparison.
The election day witnessed reports of vote-buying and low voter turnout. Some candidates and observers raised concerns that large sums of money were allegedly offered for votes. Governor Soludo commented that even if opponents offered as much as 100,000 naira per vote, his campaign was confident of victory. Meanwhile INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state urged accusers to present credible evidence of malpractice.
Security agencies said the polling process was largely peaceful. The police confirmed that special aerial surveillance and other security measures helped ensure that the vote-casting proceeded without major hitches. With over 98 % of results uploaded and Soludo’s lead holding steady, the outcome appears decisive.
