The Confederation of African Football has officially handed over the hosting flag to Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, confirming the three East African nations as co-hosts of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The symbolic handover ceremony marked the formal transition of hosting responsibilities and signalled the start of full preparations for the tournament across the three countries.
CAF officials described the move as a major milestone, noting that AFCON 2027 will be the first edition of the competition to be jointly hosted by three countries. Representatives of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda received the hosting insignia on behalf of their governments and football federations, pledging commitment to deliver a successful and well-organised tournament that meets CAF standards.
