Davido emotional tribute to Ifeanyi and Veronica
Nigerian music star Davido delivered a deeply emotional tribute to his late son Ifeanyi Adeleke and his own mother, Veronica Imade Adeleke, during a recent concert in Atlanta. In a poignant moment on stage, he paused his performance to address his son directly: “I love you, son. I hope you’re there … Tell my mom, Daddy is a superstar down here.”
Davido’s words resonated powerfully with the audience, conveying both his grief and enduring love. He performed wearing a bespoke jacket emblazoned with his son Ifeanyi’s face, a symbolic gesture that underscored how central his son and his memories remain in his life.
Ifeanyi tragically died in 2022 after an accident in Davido’s Banana Island home. Over the years, Davido has publicly expressed how deeply the loss has affected him, admitting in interviews that he still cries when he thinks of his son.
