

Edo man arrested for allegedly killing wife
The police in Edo State have arrested a man identified as TJ for the alleged murder of his wife, Queen, in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area. According to reports, TJ is thought to have attacked his wife with an axe and left the scene after committing the crime.
Neighbors said the couple had just celebrated their two-year-old son’s birthday, and there was no sign of conflict between them. They retired to bed that night without any alarming events. By morning, the neighbors noticed that the couple had not emerged and guessed they were still asleep.
The matter became more serious when their young son emerged from their room covered in bloodstains. He appeared unhurt but was stained with blood, prompting alarm among those nearby. Upon entering the room, people found Queen lying lifeless in a pool of blood, her throat slit.
TJ was initially missing after the incident. The case was reported to the Auchi Police Division, which launched a manhunt. Later, the suspect was apprehended and transferred to the Edo State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigations.
The Edo State Police Command said it would ensure justice is served in the case.
