Gunmen abduct six real estate marketers in Ogun
Gunmen have abducted six real estate marketers in Ogun State during an attack that has left residents in shock and fear. The incident occurred while the victims were inspecting a property site in a developing area of the state. Witnesses said the attackers arrived in a vehicle, fired shots into the air to scare people away, and forcefully took the six marketers before escaping into a nearby bush.
Residents of the area said the victims had visited the site earlier in the day for routine inspection and marketing activities when the gunmen struck. The sudden nature of the attack caused panic, as traders and passersby ran for safety. Community sources said all efforts to resist the abductors failed due to the heavy weapons they carried.
Security operatives have since launched a manhunt for the kidnappers. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed awareness of the incident and stated that tactical teams, along with local vigilantes, have been deployed to track the suspects and rescue the victims safely. The police also urged the public to remain calm and provide useful information that could help ongoing operations.
The abduction has renewed concerns over the safety of workers in remote and developing areas across the state. Residents and business owners are calling on the government to increase security presence in such locations to prevent further attacks and protect lives and investments.
