A man in Illinois has been found guilty of first-degree murder after he allegedly kicked his wife to death upon discovering that she had exchanged text messages with another man. The incident, which occurred in March 2020, ended tragically for the woman, 35-year-old Hongyan Yang.

According to court records, the husband, 61-year-old Alan Wang, allegedly reacted violently after seeing texts from another man on his wife’s phone. In a rage, he kicked her several times in their Naperville home, inflicting severe blunt force trauma. A relative discovered her unresponsive and emergency services were called. Yang was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Wang was initially charged with aggravated domestic battery, but after the autopsy confirmed the nature and extent of Yang’s injuries, the charges were upgraded to first-degree murder. A trial held in early October 2025 led to his conviction. Prosecutors emphasized how domestic violence, especially when it escalates to lethal force, must be met with full legal accountability.
