Ian Watkins killed in prison attack
Ian Watkins, the former lead singer of Lostprophets, has been reported dead after an attack in prison. He was serving time at HM Prison Wakefield in West Yorkshire for a long list of serious sex offences, including child sexual abuse and attempted rape of a baby.
According to reports, Watkins was fatally stabbed by another inmate in the neck during a morning incident. Emergency services were called, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. West Yorkshire Police’s homicide team is investigating the attack. His sentence had been a 29-year prison term plus additional licence time.
