Jonathan Andic under investigation for Isak Andic’s death
The tragic death of Isak Andic, the founder of the global fashion brand Mango, has taken a new turn as his son, Jonathan Andic, is now under investigation in connection with the incident.
Isak Andic, 71, died in December 2024 after falling approximately 100 meters while hiking with his son in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona. Initially, the incident was considered an accident. However, following a 10-month investigation, authorities have shifted their focus toward a possible homicide. Jonathan Andic’s status was changed from witness to suspect in September 2025 due to inconsistencies in his statements and reported tensions between him and his father.
The Andic family has expressed confidence in Jonathan’s innocence, stating that they believe he played no part in his father’s death. They have pledged full cooperation with the ongoing investigation, which remains sealed and under judicial review.
Isak Andic founded Mango in 1984, and at the time of his death, he was one of Spain’s wealthiest individuals, with a net worth estimated at $4.5 billion. Jonathan Andic has since taken on leadership roles within the company, serving as vice-president of the board and president of its holding company.
As the investigation continues, authorities are examining various aspects of the case, including Jonathan Andic’s phone data, to determine the circumstances surrounding Isak Andic’s death. No conclusive evidence has been found linking Jonathan to the incident at this time.
