Kenya light aircraft crash 11 dead
A light aircraft crash in Kenya’s Kwale County has claimed the lives of 11 people, most of them foreign tourists.
The aircraft, operated by Mombasa Air Safari (registration 5Y-CCA), was en route from Diani Airport to the Maasai Mara National Reserve when it lost contact shortly after departure. Among the victims were eight Hungarian tourists, two Germans and the Kenyan pilot.
The aircraft crashed into a hilly, forested area in the Tsimba Golini Ward of Matuga Sub-County, approximately 40 kilometres from Diani. Authorities have launched an investigation, and weather conditions at the time are believed to be a possible contributing factor.
