
Kogi bandit logistics supplier arrested
Security operatives in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State have arrested two suspects for allegedly supplying food and other logistical items to bandits hiding in the forest. The arrests were made early on Wednesday morning, around 4:00 a.m., by members of the local Government Hunters and Vigilante Group during a routine patrol in the community of Itedo-Ijowa in Isanlu.
The suspects, identified as Abayo David and David Bori, are natives of Itedo-Ijowa, It is alleged they were caught with supplies destined for armed bandit groups operating in the nearby forests. The retrieved items included various foodstuffs and other goods believed to be used by the armed groups to sustain their operations. Investigations are ongoing into their activities and any further links to organized criminal networks.
This break in the logistics chain is viewed by local authorities as an important development in the broader security efforts within the region. The local security apparatus has been intensifying intelligence-led operations and community-based vigilance to disrupt the support systems enabling banditry.
